Prof. Gal Markel
Gene Therapy
Gal Markel is a medical oncologist specializing in skin cancers and immuno-oncology, a Full Professor of Immunology at the Faculty of Medicine of Tel Aviv University, Director of the Davidoff Comprehensive Cancer Center and Deputy Director General of Rabin Medical Center. He holds PhD in Immunology and MD from the Hebrew University, and an MBA from the IDC. Gal is an expert in translational tumor immunology and clinical immuno-oncology, focusing on tumor immune resistance mechanisms and development of novel immunotherapies. He authored 135 peer-reviewed papers, more than 25 patents, and founded 5 companies, two of which, BoneTone Communications and cCAM Biotherapeutics, were acquired by international corporations. Gal is a highly active speaker, including TED MED, and won multiple national and international awards.
