Prof. Adi Barzel
Gene Therapy
Adi Barzel is an Associate Professor at the School of Neurobiology, Biochemistry and Biophysics at the Faculty of Life Sciences, Tel Aviv University. Professor Barzel is the President of The Israeli Society for Gene and Cell Therapy and is heading the Varda and Boaz Dotan Center for Advanced Therapies in collaboration with the Tel Aviv Sourasky Medical Center. Professor Barzel is a co-founder of LogicBio Therapeutics (NASDAQ: LOGC), devising genetic medicines for people for rare diseases and a co-founder of Tabby Therapeutics, developing B cell engineering against cancer and infectious diseases.
Professor Barzel did his postdoctoral training in Gene Therapy under Professor Mark Kay at Stanford University and his PhD in Genetics under Professor Martin Kupiec at Tel Aviv University. He graduated Summa Cum Laude from the Adi Lautman interdisciplinary program for outstanding students at Tel Aviv University and was previously a company commander at an IDF armor brigade and at the IDF's officer's academy.
