Regenerative Medicine

Research work

Dr. Dekel Rosenfeld is a faculty member in the Department of Biomedical Engineering and Sagol School of Neuroscience. During her Ph.D., her research focused on understating the involvement of mechanical forces in engineered tissues focusing on vascularized engineered tissues and differentiation of embryonic stem cells. Upon completion of her PhD, Dr. Rosenfeld joined the Bioelectronics group at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology as a postdoctoral fellow. Dekel developed a novel approach for remote control on cell signaling using magnetic nanomaterials, leveraged to control hormone release and for neural regeneration.

Since 2022, Dekel is the head of the lab of Nanoengineering for Biomedicine, developing nanotechnologies for regenerative medicine, neural recording and repairing organ dysfunction.
