Dr. Orit Harari-Steinberg
Bioengineering
The research of Dr. Harari-Steinberg focuses on regenerative medicine, tissue engineering, 3D-printing, human tissue cultures and stem cells. As a research director and lab manager at the Sheba tissue engineering Lab, she directs day-to-day activities including scientific, technical, personnel and ethics aspects. Dr. Harari-Steinberg previously led the R&D and developed the technology of two start-up companies, KidneyCure and TaGeza Biopharmaceutical, established based on the research performed at the Laboratories of the Pediatric Stem Cells Institute, at Sheba Medical Center. She has experience in design, implementation, monitoring and management of preclinical studies from the invention stage to proof of concept and product development. In 2005, she completed her Ph.D in Life Sciences at Tel Aviv University. Dr. Harari-Steinberg has published over 30 peer-reviewed articles in professional journals, most of them in the field of cellular therapy and biotechnology. She is a co-inventor in over 20 patents published based on her scientific discoveries.
